I do take the protection of your personal data seriously and treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
When you use this website or contact me via contact form or e-mail, various personal data is collected. Personal data are data that make it possible to identify you as a person. This privacy policy explains what data I collect and in which way and for which purposes this data is used.
In addition, I would like the users of my website to note that the transfer of data via the internet may be subject to security problems. Please note that during transfer via the internet (e.g. by e-mail), it is not absolutely possible to protect the data against access by third parties.

Your right to withdraw your consent to data processing

All you need to do is send me an e-mail to let me know. The withdrawal of your consent will not affect the legality of the processing carried out on the basis of your consent until the moment in which I receive your withdrawal.


Your right to access, block and delete your data

According to the applicable legal provisions, you have the right to receive information about your stored personal data as well as about its origin and recipients and about the purpose, for which your data is being processed, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format. In addition, you can request the correction, blocking or deletion of your personal data at any time. If you wish your personal data to be deleted, I will delete all personal data relating to you without delay. Since your personal data may be inseparably linked to data relating to your projects, I ask for your understanding that I may not be able to provide information to you about services already provided for you or requested by you after you initiated the deletion of your complete personal data. Alternatively, you can opt for the restriction of the processing of your personal data. For example, you can allow me to continue to store your data in order to keep the project information associated with the data, but object to the use of your data for availability information. You will then no longer receive any availability information from me, but your personal data and the associated project information will remain stored in my system.


Your right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

If your data is being processed unlawfully, you can lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. III. Data of website visitors

1. How do you collect my data when I visit your website?

No personal information is required to use this website as such and your activities are not monitored or recorded by cookies or tracking tools.
However, each time you access my website, the website provider automatically stores information from your computer system.

  • information about your browser type and the version used
  • your operating system
  • your IP address
  • date and time of your access
  • websites, via which you access my website (so-called referrers)
  • websites that you access via my website

Your data will not be stored together with or combined with other personal data and it will also not be transferred to third parties or evaluated for advertising purposes.

2. Why and on what basis do you collect my data?

Your data must be stored temporarily to deliver the website to your computer. To do this, your IP address must be stored for the duration of the session. Your data is also stored in log files to ensure the functionality of the website. In addition, your data is used to optimize and ensure the security of the website.
The legal basis for the temporary storage of data and log files is my legitimate interest in the above-mentioned purposes in accordance with Art. 6(1) lit. f GDPR as well as Art. 6(1) lit. b GDPR, which allows for the processing of personal data for the fulfilment and initiation of contracts.

3. How long will you store my data?

Your data will be deleted as soon as they are no longer necessary to achieve the purpose for which it was collected. In the case of the data collected for the provision of the website to your computer, this is the case when your respective session has ended and you leave the website.
Log file data are deleted after seven days at the latest. Apart from this, your data may be stored longer. In this case, the IP addresses of the users are deleted or rendered unrecognisable, so that the identification of the calling computer is no longer possible.

4. How can I object to the processing of my data?

For the provision of the website it is absolutely necessary to process your data and the data storage in log files is essential for the proper operation of the website. Consequently, for practical reasons, there is no other possibility to object than not to use the website.

5. SSL or TLS encryption

This site uses SSL or TLS encryption for security reasons and in order to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as requests that you send to me. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by means of the green lock symbol in your browser line.

With SSL or TLS encryption activated, the data you transmit to me cannot be read by third parties.

6. Linked Websites

a) Xing Xing is a social network that enables users to connect to existing business contacts and make new business contacts.
Xing is operated by XING SE, Dammtorstraße 30, 20354 Hamburg, Germany.
My website contains a XING button that links to my profile on the XING.com website. When you access this website, your browser will establish a short-term connection to the servers of XING SE. The button is a simple link without additional counting or tracking features. According to XING’s own privacy policy. XING does not store any personal data (e. g. IP addresses) about you when you access their website. Your user behaviour will not be tracked in the way of a standard “XING Share Button” tracking via the use of cookies. b) Proz.com

ProZ.com is an international platform for translators and interpreters. Users can create profiles here and be contacted by interested parties and colleagues.
ProZ.com is headquartered in: 235 Harrison Street
Syracuse, NY 13202, USA.
The Proz button on my website links to my profile on this platform. It does not trigger any counting or tracking functionalities. It can be viewed without registration and no other personal data, registration etc. is required.
According to its own statements, the Proz.com website uses tracking mechanisms and cookies, but also complies with European data protection regulations.

IV. Data processing for contract initiation and order processing

1. How are you processing my data?

If you use the website’s contact form, your entered data will be transmitted directly to me via e-mail and be stored in my local computer system. Stored personal data:

  • your last Name, first name (if applicable)
  • your e-mail address
  • other data, if you specified them in your message text
    (e. g. telephone number, address, position, contact language)

Before you can send your message, you are required to consent to the processing of your data and to accept this privacy policy. Furthermore, the data mentioned in section II. are temporarily stored by the website provider when you use the contact form.

The contact form is protected against spam by the Google service reCaptcha Verion 3. Please do note that the use of reCAPTCHA, version 3, is subject to Google’s privacy policy and terms of use. reCAPTCHA may only be used to prevent spam and abuse on websites. reCAPTCHA may not be used for other purposes such as determining a user’s creditworthiness, suitability for a job, obtaining information on financial circumstances or insurability.

Alternatively, you can contact me via the e-mail address provided. In this case the personal data transmitted in your e-mail (see above) will be stored in my local computer system.
The personal data you transmit via the contact form or directly via e-mail will not be processed automatically and they will not be subjected to any automated profiling process. They will also not be transferred to any third part except to Google for the reCaptcha check that is subject to strict regulations (see above). In addition, I would like the users of my site to note that the transfer of data via the internet may be subject to security problems. My systems are protected against attacks by adequate technical precautions. However, please note that during transfer via the internet (e.g. by e-mail), it is not absolutely possible to protect the data against possible access by third parties.

2. Why and on what basis do you collect my data?

I do collect, process and use personal data only to the extent that is necessary for the performance of my business activities and for my customer service.

The personal data you transmitted via the contact form and/or your e-mails will be processed only for the following purposes:

  • initiation and fulfilment of contracts (request management, processing of your orders)
  • settlement/establishment of possible claims (invoicing)
  • documentation in order to provide information to you about your requested project services
  • provision of availability information for your project schedules

When you contact me via the contact form, you are asked to consent to the processing of your data for the purposes mentioned above (checkbox below the contact form). In this case, the legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6(1) lit.a GDPR.
The legal basis for the processing of data transmitted by you via e-mail or postal letters, by phone or in other ways is my legitimate interest in the proper and professional conduct of my business (in accordance with Article. 6(1) lit. f GDPR). If the contact is aimed at the conclusion of a contract, the additional legal basis for the processing is Article 6(1) lit. b GDPR, which allows for the processing of personal data for the fulfilment and initiation contracts.
The other personal data processed by my web provider during the sending process are used to prevent misuse of the contact form and to ensure the security of the website. In this case, the legal basis is my legitimate interest in ensuring the security of my website (in accordance with Article 6(1) lit. f GDPR).

3. How long will you store my data?

Your personal data will be stored until their legal retention period expires and then deleted, if it is no longer necessary at this point in time for the fulfilment or initiation of contracts and/or if there is a justified interest in further storage on my part. If you exercise your legal right to have your personal data deleted, I will delete your data. Legal retention periods remain unaffected by this.
The personal data that are collected automatically by the system during the sending process of the contact form will be deleted at the latest after a period of seven days.

4. How can I object to the processing of my data?

You have the right to withdraw your given consent or object to the processing of your data at any time. In this case I will delete all your personal data stored in my system. Since your personal data may be inseparably linked to data relating to your projects, I ask for your understanding that I may not be able to provide information to you about services already provided for you or requested by you after you initiated the deletion of your complete personal data. V. Data security

I am committed to ensuring the security of your data within the framework of the applicable data protection laws and technical possibilities. To ensure the security of your data, I maintain technical and organisational security measures in accordance with Art. 32 DSGVO, which I constantly adapt to the state of the art. However, I do not guarantee that my website will be available at certain times; malfunctions, interruptions or failures cannot be excluded.

VI. Transfer of data to third parties and into non-EU countries

As a principle, I do use your personal data only within my own business.
I only pass on personal data to third parties (specialist translators, proofreaders, transport companies) if this is absolutely necessary for the fulfilment of the contract or only if you have expressly agreed to the transfer of your data. In this case the recipient is obliged to use your data exclusively for the specified purpose I will not pass your data on to third parties (e.g. for example for advertising purposes) without your express consent.
If I have to outsource certain parts of data processing (“order processing”), I contractually oblige processors to use personal data only in accordance with the requirements of the applicable data protection laws and to ensure the protection of the rights of the respective data subject.
Your personal data is not transmitted to places or persons outside the EU and no transmission of such kind is planned for the future.

VII. Legal or contractual regulations for the provision of personal data and possible consequences of non-disclosure

In some cases, the provision of personal data is required by law (e.g. by tax regulations) or may result from contract conditions (e.g. information on the contract partner). For the conclusion of a contract it may be necessary that you provide me with your personal data, which must subsequently be processed by me. Failure to provide your personal data would mean that the contract cannot not be concluded and you cannot not use my services. Before providing your personal data, you are also welcome to contact me to clarify whether the provision of the personal data is required by law or for the conclusion of the contract, whether there is an obligation to provide your personal data and what consequences the failure to provide your personal data would have.
